UK Cyber Security Council Loto
IASME is a Licensed Body appointed by the UK Cyber Security Council (UKCSC).

The UK Cyber Security Council is the UK’s recognised professional body for the cyber security profession.

IASME as a licensed body

The UK Cyber Security Council has appointed IASME as a Licensed Body, supporting the Council’s work to strengthen and professionalise the UK cyber security sector.

As a Licensed Body, IASME brings its expertise in cyber security assurance and assessment to evaluating applicants for professional cyber security titles. We help applicants demonstrate their competence, commitment and professional ethics against a consistent national standard.

IASME assesses applications from cyber security professionals seeking the Principal Cyber Security Professional (PriCSP) or Chartered Cyber Security Professional (ChCSP) title in one of two specialisms:

  • Cyber Security Governance & Risk Management
  • Secure System Architecture & Design

Our assessments are rigorous, evidence-based and aligned to the UK Cyber Security Standard of Professional Competence and Commitment (UKCSC SPCC).

What does a Licensed Body do?

Licensed Bodies are organisations authorised by the UK Cyber Security Council to assess applicants for professional cyber security titles. IASME will:

  • receive and review your application evidence;
  • assess your competence and commitment against the relevant UKCSC SPCC requirements;
  • conduct the Professional Discussion;
  • complete a Final Review; and
  • make a recommendation to the UKCSC on whether you should be registered for the professional title and specialism you have applied for.

Licensed Bodies play an important role in the UKCSC’s professionalisation framework by supporting rigorous and consistent assessment across a broad range of cyber security roles and specialisms.

Choose your title and specialism

Step 1: Choose your title

Select one UKCSC professional title Select one UKCSC professional title that matches your level of competence, responsibility and professional experience you can demonstrate in your chosen specialism.

  • Principal Cyber Security Professionals (PriCSP) are expert practitioners in one specialism, with a working knowledge of others. While they may not yet operate at the profession-wide level of influence seen in Chartered professionals, they lead teams and projects within their specific domain and are key contributors to advancing their specialism.
  • Chartered Cyber Security Professionals (ChCSP) represent the highest tier, showcasing acknowledged expertise in a particular specialism while demonstrating significant experience across multiple areas. These individuals are leaders who mentor others, contribute to the development of the profession, and exhibit strong communication, management, and ethical standards.
