Do you want to become an IASME Cyber Assurance Assessor?

IASME train and license cyber security professionals to assess against the IASME Cyber Assurance standard.

An IASME Assessor will need to attend and pass the relevant Assessor course. Once an Assessor has successfully completed the training and gained the relevant certification and passed the exam/assessments, the company they work for can become a Certification Body.

All Assessors need to work for a Certification Body to be able to carry out assessments.

IASME work with companies of all sizes; micro companies and one person organisations are welcome partners.

Certification Body Requirements

All Certification Bodies will also need to meet both security and quality requirements. They can do this by holding one of the following security qualifications:

Achieving UKAS accredited ISO 27001 certification
Achieving IASME Cyber Assurance Level 1 and Level 2 certifications

And they will need one of these quality certifications:

Achieving UKAS accredited ISO 9001 certification
Achieving the IASME Cyber Assurance Quality Principles alongside part of a successful IASME Cyber Assurance Level 1 and Level 2 certifications
Achieving a QG Quality Fundamentals+ certification

The Certification Body will also need to hold and maintain whatever certifications they are delivering.

To become a basic level Cyber Essentials Assessor, you will first need to have 3 years’ experience in IT or Security (this does not include periods of study).

Please see below the following types of experience that are accepted / not accepted as counting towards the required 3 years:

Cyber Security Consultancy	Consultancy that is not cyber security
IT Engineering	Conventional security (i.e. not Cyber Security)
IT Architecture	Engineering that is not IT engineering
Cyber Security Architecture	Analysis
Network/Infrastructure Engineer	Management/Leadership (apart from the above)
Physical computer support	Architecture that is not IT/Cyber Security Architecture
Direct management of a technical IT/Cyber Security team	Data input and administration tasks
	IT/Cyber Security sales

You will also be required to pass the free Assessor Skills exam unless you already hold one of these qualifications:

CISSP
CISM
Certified Professional (CCP) SIRA, IA Auditor or IA Architect roles at Practitioner/equivalent level or above
ISO27001 Lead Auditor

You will then need to attend and complete the one-day Cyber Essentials course and pass the exam.

After passing this course, you will be qualified to assess against Cyber Essentials (basic) whilst you are working for a licensed Certification Body.
