Systems, engineering and technology company, Frazer-Nash Consultancy, a KBR company, has become one of the first companies to be accredited for the new Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) ASSURE scheme, through the IASME Consortium Ltd (IASME).

The ASSURE scheme defines the CAA’s approach to ensuring aviation organisations can manage their cyber security risks and meet regulatory requirements, including the Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS) regulations which apply to operators of essential services within the UK’s critical national infrastructure. In the Aviation sector, these essential operators include the airlines, airports and air navigation service providers that are delivering critical aviation services to consumers.

Celebrating the accreditation, Tim Myall, Senior Business Manager at Frazer-Nash said:

“We’re really pleased to be one of the first accredited organisations for the IASME’s CAA Cyber ASSURE scheme. Our expertise in cyber security, developed supporting a wide variety of critical national infrastructure providers, and our broad knowledge of the aviation sector, together with our deep understanding of information technology and operational technology, puts us in a strong position to support the CAA’s and aviation industry’s efforts to provide world-leading protection against cyber-attack.”

The IASME scheme aims to provide aviation organisations with a greater choice of ASSURE cyber suppliers and accredited ASSURE Cyber Professionals. IASME’s goal is to champion the interests of the smaller airports and promote compliance and security for every organization, no matter its size.

Dr Emma Philpott MBE, CEO of IASME, said “We are delighted to welcome Frazer-Nash as one of our first Cyber Suppliers for the ASSURE scheme. Their expertise in both the aviation sector and cyber security makes them ideally suited to deliver the scheme”
