The Counter Fraud Fundamentals (CFF) scheme certifies companies against the controls detailed in the CFF requirements document. These controls have been developed by a team of counter fraud experts and cover the basic counter fraud controls for organisations of all sizes. They include oversight and control, protection and detection, response and recovery and the data management and analytics of businesses.

HOW IS THE ASSESSEMENT CARRIED OUT?

The assessment to gain certification is a verified self-assessment. This consists of a set of questions which are answered via a secure assessment platform. A board member of the organisation signs a declaration to verify that all answers are true, and a trained counter fraud expert then marks the assessment. The assessments cost £400 plus VAT. In order to help an organisation implement these important controls and prepare for certification, the assessment questions can be downloaded for free here.

BENEFITS OF CERTIFICATION

The process of certification will help prepare and protect a wide range of companies, to the up and coming challenger banks, innovative fintech companies, and insurance and retail sector organisations. The Counter Fraud Fundamentals certification will provide customers and those within the supply chain of an organisation with the assurance that the most important counter fraud measures are in place to protect their money and their information.
